Wales Coast Path Virtual Challenge 2022

Typically, this is sent out 10-14 days prior to the event. Supplementary messages closer to event day will be sent, including weather updates etc. Information is usually sent via email, but we sometimes use video briefings too.
We welcome and cater for Canicross runners wherever it is possible at our events and on our challenges. There is often a special category to enter when signing up for an event where a canicross discipline is offered. If there is not a Canicross category at an event you'd like to run with your dog, please get in touch and we shall try and accommodate you. In all cases where you run wth your dog - they MUST be under close control at all times and, and you take part with consideration for your fellow competitors.
We have a standard 'no refund' policy on all event entries. However, all users have the chance to purchase 'refund protect' insurance when entering, and if you have done so - this gives you the option of a refund based on the terms of purchase. Please ensure you read these when purchasing refund protect - this is provided by a third party insurer. If you didn't buy refund protect, but can't make it - we will allow transfers/deferrals up to 10 days before the event - but no sooner, I'm afraid.
On the event sign up page, there is a drop down menu where you can view the route map, and even download the gpx file to your device, to help with navigation for a recce, or even during the event itself!
Everyone's definition of 'well marked' is different! But we will be as clear as possible as to the navigation requirements for the events. For our shorter trail races, the routes are well marked with event-specific signage. For hilly and trail ultra-distance events, there is obviously more onus on the participant to navigate to some degree. However, they tend to use establish waymarked routes (Offa's Dyke for example) and we always provide gpx files that you can use on the day, in addition to the event map and information sheet provided at registration.
No, number collection is usually at registration on the day of the event.
It will vary slightly from event to event, but for our longer events where feed stations are present, we will generally proivde water, coke, high energy snacks - typically flapjacks, gels, energy solution, jelly babies etc, electrolytes and at our indoor checkpoints for ultra distances, hot drinks are generally available too. For those with dietary requirements, whilst the Mountain Fuel products we use are Vegan friendly and Gluten Free, if in doubt - please let us take your stuff to a checkpoint for you. In this case, please get in touch before event day.
Water is provided at all of our events, but we ask you to bring your own soft flask/cup/bottle to utilise the water provided. For environmental reasons, we no longer provide plastic water bottles on course or at checkpoints. For the same environmental reasons, we no longer mark our courses using 'soft' plastic tape - using correx arrows instead that can be re-used again and again.
Your guide will be in touch 5-7 days before the day, with essential information such as kit requirements, specific meeting arrangements and any other relevant information.
