Brave decision to go ahead in face of Storm Darragh. Great challenge, amazing marshals. Getting to parking was a real worry - massive deep water-filled potholes.

Fighting through a storm
The event was well organised but we did end up off track so think maybe should be people at all junctions.
Running directly into a storm made it the toughest thing I’ve ever done. Real fight both mentally and physically to get to the end. But real sense of achievement getting over the line, if somebody wants a challenge this will test you.

Storm Darragh supplied the brutal elements! First 10 k was so exposed I was struggling to stay upright but it’s that kind of type 2 fun that we all love! It was a muddy, slippy, hilly, crazy race
Great pre race comms, matter of fact briefing, yes it was quite something to go ahead when even park runs were cancelling. But it was always going to be a tough race at this time of year. So great to see that attitude. Runners looked out for each other. Marshall’s did great.

Definitely don’t blindly follow other people as they are probably going the wrong way !! Advice to download the GPX shouldn’t be ignored !!

Weather was pretty wild but kudos to the event organisers and volunteers for going ahead and being such amazing angels all the way round. Great organisation and I’m sure great views if you could keep the wind and hail out of your face!

A challenging but incredible race - recommend!
Last year’s race: -3 degrees. This year’s race: biblical wind and rain. Wouldn’t have it any other way. Runners all looking out for one another, organisers and volunteers friendly and supportive. An amazing achievement every year! Love the race, will be back year on year!

Well planned and organised. Pre race information was accurate, regarding safety, chance of losing markers along the route, etc.
