An enjoyable event over mixed terrain
I suggest that greater guidance is provided regarding appropriate footwear. I ran in trail shoes after speaking to several other runners who had done the event before. Some runners were struggling in road shoes and sliding in the mud up on the Downs. Guidance was merely to wear your favourite running shoes. I'd say that trail shoes were essential and road shoes in appropriate.
Fantastic event so much fun despite the weather
The Marshalls were fantastic full of energy and so much fun !
The only one small thing I’d share is that the warm up exercises although great fun, we’re not ideal on the rd at the roundabout, too many passing cars made it feel a little unsafe,
Otherwise by far one of the best run events I’ve attended !
Great fun and great support
Marshall’s were absolutely fabulous!
We had such a rotten day weather wise and our Marshall’s were so supportive, absolutely fantastic !
Unfortunately we didn’t get a mince pie at he end as there was none left
Great run.
Certainly need trail shoes for this run.
Challenging run, lots of fun
Rings in the start of Christmas ... but short on the mince pies!
Shortage of mince pies. I didn't get one and nor did many others I know who ran it. Stop fast runners taking more than one. Maybe add to goodie bag?
Camaraderie central!
Great event to take part in. Some challenging sections but some great decent too. More mince pies needed for the finish!
Fantastic, Festive, Fun
Amazingly dedicated marshals cheerful and encouraging even in the wind and rain and mud. Great race hq and after run refreshments thrown in . Great medal.
Good run
No mince pies left when I got back
Great event- Marshall’s were brilliant!!
I was disappointed that some took more than one mince pie meaning those of us further down the field didn’t get one.
I was really happy with a sub 2 hr run but the lack of mince pie took the shine off a little.
Maybe next year they could be popped in the goody bags? Fairer all round then.
Could be much better for a little extra effort
There were no mince pies for all the finishers which was very disappointing and poor show.
Also, on such a cold and wet day, why charge for tea at the end, if the only refreshments during the run was a cup of water...shows poor generosity on organisers part...
A brilliant tough race
The Marshall support was amazing. Kept the spirits up all the way round. A very well organised event. I’ll be back next year
Great course, great Marshall’s, great atmosphere. Can’t wait for next year!
The marshalls are incredible!
Loved how many marshall's there were, all so happy, encouraging, Christmasy (despite wind and rain) and many with music. Particularly enjoyed high-fiving the mini-marshall at the gate at the bottom of the muddy downhill field section - highlight of the run for me!
Also plenty of good singage for parking, left you in no doubt of where to park.
And goes without saying, mince pies, cake and tea were excellent.
Thanks for a great race!
Tough muddy run with wonderful marshals
First time taking part today with friends who had run it before.
It started raining as we started and never really stopped. It was very challenging where it was very very muddy and very slippery.
I expect on a sunny day the scenery would be spectacular on the off road parts.
The marshals were amazing ,so enthusiastic and supportive even though the weather was not pleasant to just stand in , they all deserve a huge thank you
Great, Well supported festive Challenge!
Undulating and split between roads/ trails and tracks. Loads of friendly Marshall’s, lots of support, great set up at Race HQ with food goody bags for finishers, homemade cakes, tea and coffee and a big space in the sports area to change etc post race - great fun!
Brilliant - thank you !
Done it 5 years in a row for a good reason
Thanks for another great event. Terrific support despite the weather. Thankyou to all marshals in particular
Brilliantly organised and welcoming
Well organised with outstanding & encouraging Marshalls.
Any chance of starting at 9am?
Thank you - excellent run . Well done to everyone involved.
