Next Race: 13/06/2025

Charing Playing Fields, Charing, Ashford, TN27 0JJ

As Spring unfurls into Summer, get ready for another spellbinding edition of the Ashford Striders Charing 10k!

This is a Partner race
This means that we are working with a host Partner Organisation and provide timing and/or race management services for their event.

Event Overview:
A Friday evening race event that all the family can enjoy, with a heartwarming community vibe. This race takes advantage of lighter summer evenings and provides a spellbinding route through the pretty Kent village of Charing, exploring country lanes towards Westwell and a stretch along the Pilgrims Way. The Ashford Striders welcome and encourage runners of all abilities so there's no cut off time, and fantastic support from the local community and marshals will spur you through every twist, turn and incline to the finish.

Course Details:
This is a single lap looped course running along quiet country lanes with a stretch along the Pilgrims Way.  Flat or slightly undulating for most of its route, there is a tough hill at 4/5k that will prove a test for most. But, don't be put off as most of the last portion of the race is flat or downhill. You'll enjoy super support and great views.

Race Start:
Last year, this race enjoyed a new start location from previous race editions and, due to some excellent feedback, this will remain the same for 2025. The race will, once again, start from the Charing Playing Fields & Recreation Ground and we look forward to cheering all our runners across the start line at the sound of the claxon!

Junior Race:
We believe in gifting the magic of running to our young racers and fuelling a lifelong passion by encouraging them to take to the start line in a race of their very own. The junior run will be split into two groups...
Approx 400m: 4 - 10 years
Approx 800m: 11 - 14 years

You can pre-enter your little one using the link below or entries will be available on the day.
Parents are responsible for collecting their children at the finish line. If parents would like to accompany their little ones on this race, then we would love them to do so... no additional entry is required. However, participating parents will not receive a medal which are reserved for children only!

Please note, the junior run will not be chip timed.
We hope that you will join us in cheering our next generation of run
ners!
