Wargrave Recreation Ground, Wargrave, Berkshire, RG10 8BH
The Wargrave 10k is a well-established race with a course starting and finishing on grass with the rest of the course on undulating country lanes and some residential streets within the village.
The fun run is for children aged 4 to 14. The course for this race is run solely off-road utlising the Wargrave Recreation Ground, with marshals distributed around the field.
In recent years, the main race has attracted an entry of 300-400 runners but has reached up to 700 since the event began.
The Wargrave 10k event, and kids fun run event are planned and organised by 3 committee members from the Wargrave and Twyford Running Club (which is affiliated to UK Athletics), as well as locally based sports event management company, Barness Fitness.
We benefit from being able to host the runners villages and start/finish line in an off-road location on the Wargrave Village Recreation Ground. Parking is available at the recreation ground but is limited and can be booked on a first come first served basis (additional £2) when you enter online. Additional parking is available away from the recreation ground.
The course is well-marshalled with approximately 100 people out on the course or around the start/finish area marshalling and officiating. Marshals cover all road junctions and critical parts of the course from a safety perspective.
We provide 3 water stations at approximately 2.5, 5.5 and 8.2 km.
We have changing facilities, bag drop & refreshments available to buy.
