Absolutely loved this event, from the moment I walked in with the local police cadets, to getting my own cell to a full challenging route around the whole prison grounds. Thoroughly enjoyed the seventh lap blast to finish off my seven hour event.

I witnessed the Race Director help carry a participants bag to their car at the end of their event, what more can I say? This level of dedication, support and friendliness of the whole organising team is apparent from the moment you arrive at the gate!

Such a great idea to run a Backyard Ultra completely at the Citadel. The atmosphere was brilliant, lucky weather ( not the wind though) and the whole idea with the key and the medal was awesome.
Definitely i’ll try to do it again and hopefully better, thank you so much to everyone involved, the support was crucial to survive through the day and night, well done Hellfire and great job Ryan .

What an amazing event, it could have been so tedious literally running around in circles but the route was great, I actually never got bored of it, very unique location.
Everything was organised so well, marshals were great, we had everything we needed.
As a woman I felt completely safe the entire time, even running through the night in the dark, it’s a great event for people to try as their first ultra, especially for women to feel safe and included, separate toilets, sanitary products and marshals that treat you with respect and enthusiasm that you are as good as anyone else there.
Amazing company Hellfire events, would definitely recommend any of their races.

For my first ever Backyard Ultra, I was extremely happy to have been part of this event. From start to finish the whole event exceeded my expectations. Will certainly be back for redemption to beat my previous result. Thank you all!!

The effort that went into the theme of this event was spectacular and the whole experience was quite something, matched only be the care and encouraged of the wonderful event staff and volunteers.

This location is fabulous, the team are fun, the elevation is painful but deserved. Great twisted route once you get to know it and great race.
