There will be no support vehicle coming to rescue you!!

Accepted Answer

The following will get you disqualified;
* Using of a gps device. Recording your progress is acceptable, but the device you use will have to be sealed in the emergency bag. (We will supply this and seal it for you!)
* Using a map other than any that we choose to give you!
* Using anything except your own two legs to get you to the finish!
* Breaking the seal on the emergency bag
* Cut-off time 5 hours for both the 10 & 15-Mile!

This is 08:15 to 09:00 no later after 08:55 you will not be able to participate no excuses on this as the bus leaves at 09:00 and you have to be on sat down and briefed, blindfolded and away!

Start Times

These will depend on the exact location of the drop points and how long transport takes to get you there, expect this to be anything between 09:45 and 10:00

Cut off Times

5 hours for both the 10 & 15-Mile that's 14:00 - 2 o'clock no later, if you can't make the generous cut off time, DO NOT enter this event, you will be putting your self and our team at risk. 
 (15 miles as the crow flies could end up been 20 or more depending how lost you get)

Memento for all finishes.
1st, 2nd, 3rd Male female in each distance.

Subject to minimum 6 finishers in each category per distance, you must finish within the specified cut off time to receive a memento.

What support is available along the route

Accepted Answer

There is NO support available after the start, NO first aid, NO physio, NO toilets NO water etc, if you don't like this don't enter.  

There will be NO sweeper vehicle, you have to make your own way back before the cut-off.

What is the terrain?

How the heck do we know, the route is entirely your choice, hills, moors, canals, tracks and road... You decide, but what ever you do, make sure you have fun, enjoy this as an adventure not a race!

What kit do I need to bring on the day?

There are several things that you will need on the day to help you to perform your best, the following list is just a suggestion of what we have found useful - talk to other athletes, join a local club who will be able to give you some great advice and develop a list to best suit you.
 Warm/suitable clothes for prior to and after the event, these can be left at the HQ and will be at there on your return. (leave nothing on the transport)
 Race numbers - pinned/attached to your race t-shirt/top or race belt, and any medical conditions clearly written on the back of your number.  You will need to show your race numbers for the duration of the event and at prize giving.   (you collect these from us at registration on the day)

Question 10

Mandatory kit

Mandatory Kit List regardless of the weather, this is for all competitors, this is the minimum we will expect you to have. 

1. Waterproof jacket - not a log flume poncho or super market fashion jacket, it has to have a waterproof membrane with taped seams.
2. Waterproof trousers - these do not abbe to be the latest £200 super lightweight running pants, a simple £5.99 pair from amazon will do the job. We do not expect you to run in them but to have them with you at all times. 
(required for all events between September 1st  and April 20th, the rest of the year these are just advisory not compulsory)
3. Foil blanket
4. Whistle
5. Winter races, any event from September 1st to April 20th you will also be required to have a back light of some description, a glow stick or suitable hi-viz top or similar is ok, think, can other road users see you!

We will be doing spot checks on the day, anyone who does not have this minimum kit or in OUR opinion is not prepared for the weather / event will NOT be starting. 
Foil blankets can be purchased on the day £2.50 each .
Be sensible, we will slacken off on some items if the weather is in our favour and this is our decision not yours, so make sure you have it all on the day.

How can I check race results?

If, you finish and finish before the cut offs, your race results will be available live at the finish line and published within two hours of race ending, on our website under the 'Results'. 
On the day results will be available from the race results centre - Somewhere in the event centre. 

It is your responsibility to visit the website if you want them in a hurry!

Can under 18-year olds enter your events

We are sorry but due to Child Protection and Insurance restrictions, we do not currently allow any under 18-year olds to enter our events. 

But keep in touch or drop us an email as this might be changing.

Do I need to bring any forms with me

Yes, you can download and complete the form now, it's on one of the menu links below in the website footer, we have blank copies available at registration.

Question 14

Are there any water / feed station

Accepted Answer

NO but, you may pass shops etc so take some change or bank card!

Drop Bag

Please leave a drop bag with us at registration at the event centre. 

A drop bag! This must NOT be larger than a shoe box sized bag, think Tesco carrier bag, remember there are loads of you and we have limited space!



(leave nothing on the bus as it will not be returning)

Where do I park?

Most of our venues have NO parking.
Please park sensibly nearby, car share, use public transport, remember you will be needing to park up for a few hours and city centre parking can be expensive, Edinburgh cost us just under £60, London £45 in 2024!

Refunds

NO, there will be NO refunds. 

From the moment you enter we start to incure costs.

Change of participant

If you wish to have another competitor take your place a £10.00 admin charge will be made and this can not be done less than 14 days before event day.

Can I take my Watch

NO
You can not wear any the type  of watch regardless of excuses! 

BUT

You can take it with you, just like your phone you can put your watch in the bag we provide and take it on your adventure.

Strava

Accepted Answer

Yes you can use Strava, Garmin, Suunto or any other type of tracking, simply start your chosen tracking device when you sit on the transport, seal it in the bag we provide and take it with you. On your return, crop out the vehicle section of your adventure.

Hot drinks and snacks, beer & coffee are available at all events, either in the venues or next door, make sure to bring some pennies to refuel!

Kit Check

How do we check your kit?

Rather than check everyone's kit which as you can imagine would take way too long at registration, we perform random spot checks. A member of our team will pick on three or four people during registration and on the way to the days transport, they will be asked to show just two items from the mandatory kit list, these items will be different for each person asked. 

All those taking a podium position will be required to show every item on the kit mandatory kit list.
