Cemetery Road, off The Avenue, Southampton SO15 7NN
Good
When I arrived I wasn't sure there was an actual event... one yazoo bus.. no hot drinks for supporters.. the run was slightly under distance and there was no chip timing which others were complaining about... I still enjoyed it though so Thank you to all the Marshall standing in the cold I really appreciate it.
Good location.
It was organised a bit better than last year but could still improve. Needs chip timing as the start / finish line leaves alot to be desired ( red painted line on the tarmac ). The medal was ok at best as was the t shirt. Other events of the same price have better shirts and medals. I would have thought that because they do runs all year around the country it would have been alot busier but it seemed like alot did not turn up. The marshalls were good and supportive. Will attend next year as it is a good location and local, just needs a few improvements.
Quite good all round.
I have received better quality finishers t-shirts.
I'm disappointed that it wasn't a chip race like every other 10k i have run in,
I now have to wait 72 hrs for conformation of my result.
But as it was your first event here, I'm sure it will be much better next year.
Thank you for providing this event.
Great value for money for a well organised race, which was in a great location & marshals really helped.
This was my first race organised by MCC Promotions and so I was not really sure what to expect, but was very pleasantly surprised at how well everything went and will definitely try to do this race again and look at other races organised by MCC. Well done.
Pleasant run.
Better organised than last year although I think there are better runs than this one for the money. The medal is ok and the T shirt ok. Could do with chip timing and a much better finish line rather than a red line just painted on the tarmac and 2 yellow flags. I think because last year had problems there were not as many people running this year.
Ample parking for a "small event" Good place to run
Running clock at finish line would be good idea. Finished the race and have no idea how I did until results are published.
Chip timing would be good but assume cost would increase for this.
A small, relaxed in informal 10km. Good introduction to running with others.
The route is all on paths through the park with no roads. There are no steep inclines but the route does have long gentle up and downhill sections.
Good event at times
Pre race brief was a shambles! No idea what was going on. Luckily I ran this last year so was a marked improvement from then. Some runners caution signs would of been nice as I nearly had a couple of dogs take me out! This would be an ideal event for beginners. Minus the organisation as next thing you know your starting with not enough warning, chip timing would be good you can get more professional runs at that price with chip timing. Hopefully an improvement next year as I will be back
Enjoyable but could be improved upon !
Whilst i enjoyed the run ! i would hope that you could improve the finish line atmosphere as quite a flat feeling ! And would have been nice to hold the trophy awards back till the finish to keep people around and let runner friends of recipients witness the ceremony ! Very good effort !!
Would be great to have time tags
Glad to have done it.
Great route, loved the free milkshakes. Could not hear the instructions at start, and some marshals not as friendly/supportive as previous races I have been in (although some were smiling and encouraging).
Enjoyable run setting
Needs to have a secure bag drop off.Members of public on running route was a pain.More bins needed.Marshalls where encouraging. Other runners friendly.Better start / finish line would be nice.Difficulty obtaining results and photos ????? Overall good experience.
It needs work - looks amateurish, but the common is a lovely pace to run.
There should ideally be chip timing, and better event promotion should yield higher entrant numbers which would make it more fun.. The route round the common needs to be re-thought as the two "dead-ends" per lap are a bit tedious. The difference between marshals here at a "commercial" event and one organised by a club is noticeable. Some were encouraging; others more interested in their mobile phones.
The common itself is lovely place to run, however.
Excellent support for everyone in spectacular place! Well done!
Marshalls were all supportive and polite. Maybe a technical t-shirt that you can wear for running (although this probably increases costs and isn't viable) and a couple more toilets would be useful. But overall, it was a lovely run, of all standards, friendly and hope it keeps going. Thank you all.
Good event
Good event which was marshaled well. Only bit to look at for the future was the bag drop (not secure) quite a few people including myself went back to the car with bags as leaving then in an open gazebo is not ideal.
Great event, just needs chipped times
Lovely time of year to run on southampton common
It is always nice to have the medal when you cross the finish line.
Also I would certainly mark up the finish line more clearly so that people can start to sprint.
Nice flat course, great for PBs.
Only problem was people kept getting in the way on the course, especially on the parts where runners were running on both sides of the path.
Best race ever
Amazing run i would come back every year
