Event Overview:
We invite you to join us for this wonderful forest race to celebrate the arrival of 2025! If you have a New Year's resolution to get yourself race-fit twirling about your brain, then why not join us in the picturesque forest of Sherwood Pines, for the Sherwood New Year 10k and 5k? This race has been steadily growing in popularity and, due to overwhelming demand, now offers a junior race edition as well!

Great for seasoned pros or total newbies and the route's gorgeous greenery is sure to motivate any runner to the finish.

And, for our junior racers...
... is a BRAND NEW family event in the form of a junior race offering!
This race will give our aspiring junior racers a chance to take part in their very own, dedicated event.  The race will take place before the main race, on the trails and paths around Sherwood and will be fully marshalled. The race will not be chip timed but all our junior finishers will receive a medal and can look forward to being cheered across the finish line. 

Parents are responsible for collecting their children at the finish line. If parents are accompanying their children on this race then no additional entry is required. However, participating parents will not receive a chip time or medal. We hope that you will join us in supporting our young runners with uproarious cheers!

Course Overview:
The routes follow a scenic course within Sherwood Pines. This is a looped course which spans through the naturally undulating trails within the forest. Once part of the ancient Sherwood Forest, the park is the largest of its kind in the East Midlands.  Throughout the race, runners will make their way along dirt tracks flanked by the towering woodland. It's a real treat!

The 10k course is a two lap route whilst those running a 5k race will complete only one lap.

A note on headphones:
Due to new UKA rules that came into force on 01 April 2024, in the ear and over the ear headphones are no longer permitted at running events unless otherwise stated. Bone conducting headphones are permitted however, if you do choose to wear bone conducting headphones, then we ask that you have the volume turned down low enough to hear the marshal instructions.

Directions

By Car:
Sherwood Pines is located in the Heart of Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire, on the B6030 east of Kings Clipstone.   There will be parking at the event, and the fee is included in the cost of your ticket.

By Bus:
Take the number 14 or 15 to Kirton or Walesby from Mansfield bus station. Buses run every half hour Monday-Saturday and every hour on Sundays.
