Lovely local race on local trails.
Gps tracker lagged about 300m behind my actual location but as I knew the route as I've run on these trails many times this wasn't an issue for me. It did appear some runners were navigationally challenged at times. If this could be tweaked then what a fantastic event for all.
Really excellent run
Really highlight the need to look out for the way markers. My GPS stopped working but thankfully my friends was ok. The left turn in the 10 mile route just after the 5.5 right turn could have done with a big sign, a lot of people missed it. But I was a fab run, would do it again. Thanks for organising it :)
I’d do it again
Nicely organised and volunteers are very friendly. We did miss the marker for the turn off for the 5.5 run and I do think if you’re not great with GPS, a few more obvious markers would have helped. But overall I had a great time!
A lovely route, great scenery
The app didn’t work properly for me (it wouldn’t always centre on my location) so I used the GPX and OS maps app instead. I couldn’t tell whether we should do the loop clockwise or anti-clockwise, thankfully I went the right direction! I didn’t see any mention of cut off times during the race sign up process, this should have been made clear when signing up.
Really good trail run, great mix of surfaces
My gps tracker app wasn't working on my phone but luckily my friends was. The markers were had to see. We did have to loop back a few times. Also think the 2.30 to finish was quite hard, slower runners may struggle to finish in that time
We need more of these!
Great trail running and navigation - very enjoyable
My favourite event yet!
I absolutely loved this trail run, the scenery was absolutely stunning and there was a real sense of togetherness amongst the 5.5 mile runners.
Next year I am definitely going to do again but the 10 mile.
Thank you
Fantastic adventure through the British countryside, with a TShirt and medal at the end; what more could you want!!
Loved it, thank you
Great concept, lovely scenery
The GPS tracker app failed on several occasions, we ended up running part of the route in reverse! But we made it back, the scenery was lovely. Will have to do it again and run the correct route!
It's a brilliant concept but quite a few people seemed to struggle with the app freezing, not showing your number or just shutting down completely.
Still enjoyed it, would do it again although I would have probably panicked if I'd not run in a team
Lovely scenic route
My geo thing did not work. Had to rely on others and we got lost. Did not realise till later there were tiny markers showing the way, which in themselves were an ok size but wished we'd known @ them at the start. In the end we went out for 5 miles, turned round and came back. Apart from technology & maybe a marshall or 2 extra really liked the run
Beautiful run
I followed the GPX file on my watch which was spot on.
I wouldn’t want to hold my phone throughout so glad I had that.
Thanks
Bloody brilliant
As the first race of its type there were bound to be a few very minor teething troubles, but as soon as the tracker was working we were away. Definitely one to add to the running calendar.
Great fun
Loved the app. I’d have also been happy to have a map. Something a bit different. I should have ran slower and enjoyed the scenery rather than going for a time. With the right mentality it could be really great fun.
