The Race To The Bill Triathlon -

This is a well established Triathlon race around the Isle of Portland dedicated to one of our members Major Mick Welborn, a giant amongst men, who sadly passed away in September 2019

THE SWIM

Swimming 1 OR 2 loops around the breakwater in Portland Harbour, you will negotiate a 750m or 1500m course around the huge rocks and orange marker buoys exiting the water no more than 50m away from a flat well organised transition area.

THE BIKE 17.5km, 1 lap around Portland, seeing the famous Bill lighthouse and fantastic Chesil Beach stretching for miles along the Jurassic coastline.

THE RUN A totally flat 5km OR 10K run around the Osprey Quay area of the marina.

Mass start at 08:00 for the Sprint

 

Both events will be chip timed 

Free Parking can be found on site, please follow the marshals instructions.

Please make sure you are registered between 05:30 and 06:30, late registrations will not be accepted and you may have your number reused.

Nothing will be sent in the post, all swim caps, numbers, timing chip etc will be collected at registration on the morning of the event.

Registration and racking will take place on SUNDAY ONLY from 05:30 till 06:30

Swim: 30 mins - race total time 00:30 - actual time 08:30

Bike: 1hour 30 mins - race total time 2:00 - actual time 10:00

Run:1 hour - race total time 3.00 hours - actual time 11:00

Course close and marshals withdrawn at 11:00 - race starts at 08:00

The cut off times for the Classic will be -

Swim: 50 mins - race total time 00:50 - actual time 07:50

Bike: 1hour 30 mins - race total time 2:20 - actual time 09:20

Run:1 hour 20 mins - race total time 3.40 hours - actual time 10:40

Course close and marshals withdrawn at 11:00 - race starts at 07:00

There will be a race briefing 07:45 The Sprint race will start at 08:00
