Great way to start a Sunday
It's been a while since my last Nice Work event but it was good to be back. The marshalls were happy, friendly and very encouraging. Looking forward to the next one.
Disorganised and very disappointing
Race was not properly laid out at the start meaning the top 10 had to start with a handicap. When you pay your money you expect the basics (ie the route) to be in place. The race organisers and marshalls also didn't support or even look to compensate the top runners. Very disappointing to say the least
Good day out but not the best organisation
I arrived at 8.45 only to find the car park gates closed when it was advertised opening at 8.30am, cars were queuing to get in with other motorists trying to overtake, stewards standing at gates and not taking control of the issue.
At around mile 3, a wrong turn was taken by the first 40 or so runners, stewards were sitting in a car and letting people go past.
It would of been nice to see a little coffee van at the finish, overall a good day but think you need to look at the organisation of this event
Really well organised, challenging race.
Thank you for creating a really lovely atmosphere on the day.
Well organised, great challenging route, definitely recommend
Awesome Route and Well Organised!!
Great atmosphere and well setup with good instructions for race day. Highly recommend this event whether You're an experienced or beginner runner you'll love these trails.
Decent route with good Scenery
Good event just a shame about the 3mins lost due to a sign been a little bit misleading
Great challenging course and well organised
Amazing views on a hilly route
Fantastic race 2 laps for the 10mile, route is a good mix of flat sections and undulating hills. Plenty of waters stops and jaffa cakes too. Well organised and very jolly marshals. Not an easy route by any stretch of the way but beautiful views. Trail shoes recommended. Thankyou to all.
Great race for those going fast, slow and everywhere in between!!
Book it or regret it!
Fabulous event, well organised, amazing marshals…. Loved it!
Could be great but unfortunately front runners ended up running an extra mile.
Marshals on points where the running direction changes and there are multiple options available. Unfortunately it’s too easy for idiots to change the direction of the signs. The marshals who were there were excellent but we possibly need more of them for this event. I would have won the race today if it wasn’t for running an extra mile.
Disappointing
Signs were turned around by bikers apparently and then corrected during the race so the whole timed event was completely meaningless. Lovely organisers and can’t be blamed but it did put a real downer on the event.
Poor Organisation, Beautiful Scenery
Disappointed that a marshall sent leading runners the wrong way, leading to runners covering varying distances. Overall male winner ran 10 miles, second and third place ran 11 miles! Yet results still stand. Organiser apologised and said we'd have a conversation which didn't happen. No presentation. Trophies were quickly handed out, potentially avoiding a scene. No compensation offered. Hopefully lessons will be learnt.
A close gathering of like minded wanting to push themselves to the limits on a tough but enjoyable course and at the finish line you see nothing but smiles with each runner achieving their goal and finishing a tough course
Disappointing
This is a beautiful location for a run/race, however, we were told the prebrief was going to be 10 min before the start, this happened with 2 min to go, prebrief was disjointed, on the run itself there was a missing marshal which meant some of the front runners ended up doing 11.3 miles this affected the overall results which are now inaccurate. The front runners did end up at a marshal but from a completely direction, he just directed us around the top loop again. The missing marshal was threat the 2nd time around the loop. This is extremely frustrating as I enter to see my overall position. Wonder what Nice Work are proposing to do about it.
Great scenery, great trails....
Be great if there was some haribo or other sweets at the water stops. Apart from that, great event
Tough uphills, harder than most realise.
The pics are not of this course, they are of Birches Valley.
This is a lovely course but has some tough climbs so be aware. Great challenges and stunning scenery.
