Event Overview
This is one of those unforgettable races that you'll want to return to year after year. The race explores some of the stunning 220 acre estate at Ashburnham Place. The grounds are rich with ancient woodland and local wildlife and parts have been designated as a site of 'Special Scientific Interest' because of the valuable flora and fauna found there. And, as the race takes place just as we slip into midsummer, the grounds are literally bursting with natural treasures to enjoy as you run.
But, this race doesn't just boast a stunning location. The air crackles with race-day energy; you'll find charity tents and a mouthwatering BBQ. There's a wonderful Junior Run on offer which grows in popularity every year. And, the whole event receives fantastic support meaning you won't be short of people cheering you across the finish line or cheery volunteer marshals to show you the way.
Please note that, dogs are not allowed on site.
A Good Cause
Out Of The Blue is a fund-raising body established in memory of Will Beckett who took his own life at Beachy Head in January 2013, at the age of 42.
The tragedy came as an incredible shock for his family and friends - it simply came 'Out Of The Blue'.
The event aims to raise funds for four amazing charities which helped Will's family and friends in the immediate aftermath of his death.
Out Of The Blue raises money to support these charities so that they can continue to help others.
Winston's Wish... gives hope to grieving children. They support children and young people after the death of a parent or sibling. This is one of the most devastating losses a child will ever face.
Dragonflies... offers free support to children aged 0-18 old and their families who are experiencing pre or post bereavement.
CALM... is the Campaign Against Living Miserably. They are taking a stand against suicide, standing up to stereotypes and standing together to show life is always worth living.
The Beachy Head Chaplaincy Team... are a valued search and rescue charity that seek to save lives at Beachy Head, East Sussex. They patrol on foot and by car, and respond to emergency calls locating anyone at risk.

Race HQ: Ashburnham Place, Battle, East Sussex, TN33 9NF
By Car: Ashburnham Place is roughly 5 miles outside of the village of Battle, just off the A271. Ashburnham Place will be on your right if travelling from Battle and there are signs marking the entrance. There will be ample parking available for the race. We also encourage our runners and their supporters to car share wherever possible; car parking on site is limited and it also helps to reduce our carbron footprint!
By Train: There are train services into Battle Station, from where you can take a taxi to the race (there are taxis just outside the station). You can also catch the train to Bexhill Station, from which it is around a 7 mile taxi journey to Ashburnham Place.
