NAVIGATION FOR MOUNTAIN BIKERS

Aberfoyle Community Hub

PLEASE NOTE: We are passionate about increasing inclusivity in the outdoors.  This course is for women, non-binary, and those who identify as women. As a not-for-profit organisation, any profit from courses and events will go back into the community - allowing us to empower more people to get out and enjoy the outdoors. We understand that times are hard financially for some people so as part of our commitment to making the outdoors for everyone we have a discount code for those struggling financially. If that is you then please visit www.dirtdivasmtb.co.uk/outdoors4all to find out how we can help you with the costs.

ABOUT THE COURSE:

Join us for a day of navigation skills while exploring some of Aberfoyle's infamous Gravelfoyle trails!  We'll start the day with a cup of coffee and some classroom skills before heading outside to explore the beautiful surroundings of the Trossachs National Park.  Perfect for those brand new to navigation or needing a refresher.  Learn to read a map, use a compass and gain confidence in the outdoors. We'll finish the session back in the classroom, spending some time looking at how to use online resources and bike computers to aid navigation.

REQUIREMENTS:

Suitable for gravel or mountain bikes.  Bring appropriate wet-weather clothes, a helmet, packed lunch, and a change of dry clothes.

An OS map (OL46 1:25 000) and compass are needed for the session. These are available to hire for the day - please let us know on the booking form if required.

*Please Note this course requires a minimum number of participants to run. Refunds will be given if these numbers are not met
