This route is suitable for both beginners and more experienced runners ! The race starts and finishes on the grass green close to Hampton Pier Recreation Ground. Your race will be chip timed, kilometre markers will be displayed along the route. Marshalls will be on the route to support you.  Come along and enjoy a fun filled morning as we race along the picturesque coastline between Herne Bay and Whitstable. This is a largely flat course, whether you are aiming for a personal best or just want to complete the distance we look forward to seeing you.

Number and Chip Collection

These are collected on the day, so please arrive in plenty of time & collect your running number/timing chips between 7.30am and 8.30am. Timing chips & numbers will be distributed in alphabetical order by surname. Signs at race HQ will indicate which queue you should be in. Please note that ID will be required. Queuing in the wrong queue will slow down the process for you & others. Race Officials will be on hand to help you.

Start and Finish Area

This is situated in the same location as the race HQ. Please arrive in this area in good time for the start of the race at 9.00am. This is where there will be a briefing by Race Officials before the start of the race. The course is the same as in 2022. When starting and finishing, make sure you run over the timing mat. There will be marshals guiding you around the course and we will also have medical cover if you get into any difficulties. In the finish area your chip will be removed, you will be given your medal and there will be water and an energy snack available.

Parking: There is limited pay and display parking at two public car parks, Swalecliffe Avenue Car Park, Herne Bay CT6 8EJ and Hampton Pier Car Park, Hampton Pier, Herne Bay CT6 8DL. There is also on street parking nearby in Hampton Pier Avenue and surrounding roads in walking distance to the Race HQ and start. Vehicles and their contents are left entirely at owner’s risk. Note: Please do not park on Swalecliffe Avenue, this is a private road and must be kept clear at all times.
