Carsington Water, Ashbourne, Derbyshire, DE6 1ST
A Hard course in parts but we'll worth the effort as it is a beautiful location and great support
Many Thanks. I will see you again xx
Something for every ability
T was exactly 6 years to the day that i last ran at Carsington and I thoroughly enjoyed it as did my partner who ran her first Nice Work event. The marshalls were awesome - friendly, enthusiastic and very encouraging. A great day for all runners with everything from a 5k up to a marathon. Looking forward to next year.
Good but requires improvement
P.A. ,at start was not working but race organiser did his best. A water station was sign posted but not set up or manned which was disappointing especially as all the water etc., was clearly evident.
A good event but room for improvement.
Great venue, great race.
Beautiful location and not busy, just the right number of people.
We ran the half marathon, we came last, but we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Lovely circular route on runnable trails
The paths around the reservoir were easy to run on, not too rocky or muddy. It was undulating with lots of ups and downs but they weren’t too long or steep. If you’re new to trail running this would be an ideal route to try as the route was clear and easy to run on with the challenge of the small hills.
The route was clearly sign posted and was marshalled by friendly people. There were two aid stations with water, cola and sweets and drinks at the finish line too.
I liked the size of the event too as it wasn’t too big but enough to have an atmosphere. Being based at Carsington Water Visitor Centre was great as there was plenty of parking, proper toilets (!) to use before and a cafe after.
We were definitely blessed with the weather too!
First 5K I have done in 6 years and it was brilliant felt very included
great event
first time running with Nice work event, and will be looking to doing more events with them, though I am sadly a lot slower now I was made to feel very welcome. Big thank you to Amy who keep me company while doing the sweeper for the event also the to ladies how ran into the finish with me
Brilliant friendly ,well organised event ,with stunning scenery
Could not fault anything, it was such a nice event. Great atmosphere. Made all the more special by the whole Nice Work team, particularly the M.C. who was a Tour De Force.
Fabulous support from marshalls. Well organised. Toilets and parking. All paces welcomed. Great t shirt.
Adequate compared to previous races there .
My only criticism is the water stops. Where there was two on the one side of the reservoir that was great, but the other side, which is probably about mile, 4-7 that side it wasn’t even set up. it said drinks ahead and it was all boxed up still the guy/marshall just down from there didn’t seem really bothered.
Personally after having now ran the route both directions and now the in & out loop part . I prefer the in and out at the beginning. I found that soul destroying . Just my opinion .
Really well organised & friendly Marshalls .v supportive
Thank u for a v well organised event
Great event!
Difficult, but fun, course! Staff were incredible.
Scenic race round a beautiful lake
Off road, but hard gravel underfoot and fine despite the recent rain.
Not the sort of race I usually do, but enjoyed it and grateful for the opportunity to race today after cancellation of the national XC champs.
Awesome - course and Marshalls 10/10
Definitely would do this event again - loved it
Well organised, v.friendly
Could have been excellent, but the ball was dropped on ensuring athletes knew where they were running
I helped a man who had ran off the course, the opposite direction to the finish line. And looking at the 10k results it appears some missed a turn. Marshals were more frequently wishing runners a good morning rather than giving direction. I understand for voluntary events, this can be overlooked, but this wasn’t a free event!
Outstanding
Marshals were sensational. Thank you for a wonderful day.
