Cannock Chase, Penkridge Bank Road, Rugeley, WS15 2UA

Join us for early summer racing delights and race between the trees at Cannock Chase Forest!
It's time to treat yourself!

This is a Nice Work race.
This means that this is an original Nice Work race, fully hosted and organised by us.

Event Overview:
Traditionally taking place during in the autumn, this hugely popular race is enjoying a rebirth as a summer race, so that you take advantage of dappled sunlight and summer breezes and you chase between the trees.

In spite of being a challenging course, it's open to runners of all abilities, from novices to experienced athletes and it's perfect for ongoing training schedules. Set against the backdrop of stunning woodland and gaining in popularity year on year, this race is a firm favourite on the racing calendar. And, let's not forget the wonderful support of our volunteer marshals there to help guide you through the course and cheer you across the finish line!

Course Details:
The course uses the paths, trails and bridleways within Cannock Chase. The half marathon is a challenging two laps of their course map whilst the 10k is a single lap of theirs. It starts and finishes close to Penkridge Road Car Park and should remain relatively quiet with no vehicle traffic. However, there will likely be other forest users and bicycles crossing the race route and runners should race with care throughout the event.

The terrain is likely to be uneven; please keep an eye out for protruding tree roots and slippery surfaces especially if the weather has been wet leading up to race day.
