Its back for 2023 with some adjusted routes, but still an experience to remember
Escaping Britain’s shores if only just for a day ot two is as close most of us will ever get to feel like part of Le tour, Built on the foundations of France’s celebrated love of cycling, the Beyond French Revolution is a teasing taster of what life is like riding on the other side of the English Channel.
This European trip takes the sting out of independently planning a cycling trip abroad, as we will take care of everything on this ride to ensure you enjoy your day and get the most out of the fast-paced sportive setting.
The routes are fully signed, with GPX and GPS downloads available, also with aid stations and on course support (Safety and Mechanical Support) you ride, we will help you finish.

THE FORMAT:
ENTER THE EVENT AND BOOK A CROSSING:
It doesnt matter how you get to Calais, just be at the start by 1100.
PARK IN DOVER or CROSS USING THE TUNNEL:
Park your vehicle in one of the multiple car parks close to the dock or grab a group of friends and cross using the Tunnel then park close to the start and ride across the start line in calais. (The tunnel is approx 3 km from the start).
(Do not forget to get a parking ticket on either side).
REGISTRATION:
Your number will come in the post, so your ready to start on the French side.
CYCLE TO THE CALAIS START:
On arrival in Calais, cycle to the start location
This is where you will Start and Finish the route, drop your bag and register that your starting your ride.
OR DRIVE:
You can drive on board with your bike and then park in Calais and cycle to the start
(It will be sign posted by us and is 2 km)
Then you can have a few days exploring more of the French countryside.
CYCLE THE ROUTE:
Cycle the route around northern France and return to the finish.
CATCH YOUR RETURN TRIP:
After the ride simply return to the UK at your convenience.
(You decide which ferry or channel tunnel train to return on).
START AND FERRY INFORMATION:
The start will close at 1100am, there is plenty of time to register at the start, your number will come in the post so keep it safe, once the ferry or train docks you can just roll through the start to complete your ride.
FRENCH REVOLUTION SPORTIVE:
All routes will start and finish in Calais and we have tried to make the whole route as open and free flowing as we could.
FERRY / CROSSING BOOKING:
You should independently book your own ferry, or Channel crossing your crossing is not included in the cost of entry. (We have no control over ferry or train timings etc)

You can view a full map of all the routes by following this link, however printed maps will be available at the start.
Although the routes are comprehensively marked with route arrows on occasion people move these signs, we suggest downloading the route to a phone or navigation device just in case you need route assistance on the day.
ROUTES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE; WE ARE CONSTANTLY CHECKING THE ROUTES TO IMPROVE YOUR RIDING EXPERIENCE.
SPECIFIC EVENT INFORMATION:
Various departures , choose your own way to travel.
Registration will be from 0750 – 1100
You can start from 0900
The START will close at 1100 you will not be able to start after this time.
There will be a small safety brief on the start line just before the event begins, if you miss the briefing you will not be able to compete.
FINISH LINE:
The finish line will stay open until, 1930 , We will escort you to the finish if you can not make this cut off.
EACH RIDER WILL RECIEVE:
- A fantastic finisher medal.
- Entry goodies (Distance specific).
- Timed results.
- Safe bag drop.
- Aid station/s (Route distance will determine how many).
- First aid in the event centre and throughout the event course.
MORE INFORMATION:
Whether you’re setting yourself a fitness target, raising money for your good cause or just coming to join the hundreds of other riders who are riding for their own goals, you know you can also ride just for fun. (Is 100 miles fun, it can be, especially in France!)
(The event is limited of 500 riders over all the distances).

Further event details will be sent to your registered email address before the event.
Event updates will arrive approx. 2 weeks before an event, but everything you need to know is contained within these event pages.
Transfers and deferrals close 1 month before the event.

We always welcome volunteers at our events so if you fancy joining the team for the day or even a few hours at registration or with parking, please get in touch. You will be rewarded for your efforts and will be able to choose an event to enter for free, that is any event and any distance.
