Amazing
This was my first half marathon and I absolutely loved it - the hills pushed me right to my limit but so glad I managed to keep going, the feeling at the end was unreal.
Excellent, well organized and friendly event
Very well organised & very friendly course marshals :-)
Challenging course with stunning views.
Great run route, tough at times but scenery unreal
New medal is fantastic
Brutal course, friendly, well organised
Bring back water stations for all - water bottles or cups at stations
Free medals for all. I brought medal for the last finisher £5 added on to entry fee
Beautiful friendly local event
My 2nd time running this tough but absolutely beautiful half marathon. Lovely local friendly feel, with enthusiastic marshals - especially at the Bloor Hill water station! Thoroughly recommended.
Up beat and enthusiastic marshals despite the weather:)
Although the forecast didn't give rain, we got it before we even started. This didn't dampen the spirits though. Then for a short while we had bright sun. Then we were treated to some horizontal rain for a short while before the weather settled on regular drizzle.
The Marshall's and pace runners we were fortunate to have near us massively made this event very enjoyable despite the weather. Big thanks to them all and a special thank you to the 2hour 20 pce runner who gave us massive motivation right when we needed it. :)
Beautiful, rural route with a couple of testing hills.
Many thanks to the 1:40 pacer.
Very nice route, however the fact that no cups or bottles were provided at each station was quite frankly ridiculous. Once completed the run, no option
Challenging and great fun
Rewarding
As a trail/fell runner I still find this route very scenic and the closest you will get scenery wise
Really great race to run
The only negative that I can say was the stopping of traffic in the centre at the end. There is nothing worse than having to stop start whilst running, the marshals were as quick as they could be, but a stop is a stop.
Small Friendly Half Marathon with Two challenging Hills
Massive thank you to the organisers, great marshells with beautiful scenery . Will be back next year. Only comment, With such an amazing medal I would love to see and pay for a tee shirt.
Thanks
Andy
Wow! Definitely a tough one!
This was my first ever half marathon and all those hills were hard! Great atmosphere and everyone was so friendly and helpful! Absolutely loved it!
Great scenery and atmosphere
I have run this race 14 times now and it’s my favourite Half Marathon. Great scenery and friendly marshalls. Well organised as well. Thanks to all the volunteers
Time is earned on this course
Lovely atmosphere from the start. Marshalls were amazing and the encouragement for everyone was brilliant. It was a tough course with 2 naughty hills but they make you stronger right. I do wish some of the roads were closed due to impatient drivers but that can't be helped. All in all I would absolutely recommend this race and will be to my running club.
Great volunteers-all of them! Amazing views!
Love this run. Haven't been able to take part for a few years because I was away on the date.
Today's weather made it tough (for me), but the marshals were all amazing and the other supporters too. And the pacers! (Especially 2.20 chap-thank you!)
Always such a lovely friendly run to take part in. Views are incredible! I wish I lived closer to Ashbourne.
Thanks everyone -hope you're all home safe and dry!
Undulating and scenic half marathon
This is a well organised and established event. The scenery is amazing and the marshals are supportive and attentive (ideal blend).
It's a hilly course that is best with a bit of training beforehand, but it's a rewarding run.
Recommended.
Great race
Loved this event, everyone so friendly and looking out for eachother on the roads. Fantastic marshalling, clear directions. Lovely views. Brilliant facilities- actual toilets and easy parking. Overall fantastic race!
