Great event on the day with great community feel
Talking to the other runners I could tell this is one that has people returning year after year and has that great community vibe. The race is set up perfectly and loved the care of adding the extra cp at mile 12.
My constructive feedback would be that as a 1st timer I didn't feel this vibe until race day. There was no community chat in the lead up I could find that could help me get to know the other runners which I found a shame.
If you wanted to take this race to the next step and make it larger (and I say 'if' because I think the community feel of this one is already fantastic as it is) then a. a more effective title is probably needed (bit of a mouthful) and b. a usp. For me this USP could be the gap between cp4 and 5. This section was brutal yet achievable and for many of the runners I was with this weekend it was about whether they could or could not make it to Forden.
Anyway I hope this info is useful. Thank you to the organisers and volunteers. This race was great and has so much going for it. Great checkpoints, great energy, great course. Would definitely recommend
Great route, friendly organisers.
I would have preferred a bit more communication in the months before the event, but it was all good, lovely people, the route is well worth doing.
The weather was SO HOT this year!
Challenging.
Overall enjoyable. My only gripe would be it would be useful to have more information about the checkpoints before we started. Checkpoint 2 was outside, when it was planned to be inside. If there was a change this could have been announced at the beginning. The signage to the checkpoint off the route (CP 4 and 5) were difficult to see - particularly in the dark. Checkpoint 5 was a significant distance from Forden. I know you gave a reference for the location but it would have been helpful to have some more notes (like the helpful notes about the Aquaduct). Hope these comments are helpful for future plans.
Good course, great support staff. Could have done with a bit more signage for the checkpoints
Inclusive challenge - you can do it!
You’ll get out of it what you put in - a great friendly team with amazing supporters made sure we all had an incredible experience.
Tough but Stunning course
A tough route but entirely up to you what pace you move at and how far you go so suitable for any ability, plenty of hills but no super technical terrain. Really well organised, super friendly atmosphere and stunning scenery. Thanks Outfit
Definition of “Gruelling”
Great day, learnt a lot, thanks for organising the event.
Another great event!
Awesome guys. Nice work.
Fantastic friendly event, very well organised
This is a friendly event set in some stunning scenery. Highly recommended.
A brilliant event, well organised and very friendly. The route is amazing and challenging enough to make it feel like an adventure. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Will be back next year!
9 out of 10 score due to some problems with GPS tracker and the GPX file. Once you get this sorted it will be a 10 out of 10 event.
Well organised but challenging race.
The staff were extremely helpful and couldn't do enough for you. Great team of people.
I came into the race a little naive as to the severity of the terrain, especially on the first leg which I guess could have been explained better before the race but I could/should have also researched it myself beforehand, but all in all it was a great experience (albeit a painful one!).
