Next Race: 09/11/2025
Stebbing Primary School, Stebbing, Dunmow, Essex, CM6 3SH
One of the best races in the calendar - keep doing what you do!
A fantastic course with a short service remembrance at the start of the race which is a lovely touch
Great race!
Enjoyable the remembrance service before is great
Friendly event in a lovely village.
Very friendly team of marshalls and well organised throughout. Beautiful village and surrounding run route. The remembrance service before the run and beautiful medal was very poignant. An enjoyable event.
Nice Work Stebbing
My second time at this event and I had an absolute hoot running with my pals. The course is challenging in places but the cake and medal are worth it.
My only slight negative is that perhaps Marshals should hold cars with their engines off during the remembrance service. Those people should have enough respect to do that but it wasn’t the case on Sunday which was a shame.
I’ll be back next year, that’s to all for a fantastic race.
Excellent race with friendly and supportive marshals
Mark a special occasion with a lovely run and fab medal
Car park could do with separate entrance/exit for cars and pedestrians. Also could do with Marshall’s helping people when leaving as is a bit difficult to see getting out especially with lots of pedestrians walking in the road and through the same gate.
Enjoyable race, car parking needs improving
The marshals who were managing the traffic out on the course did a brilliant job in sometimes challenging conditions. The car park entrance and exit needs refinement. We witnessed a near-miss when someone pulled out of the car park as the visibility is poor due to the hedges and pedestrians blocking the view as they wait to enter the car park. Lots of marshals there on arrival but none there when trying to depart.
Great, well organised friendly run through a very pretty area. I would say ideal for a 1st 10 miler! Great medal!
It would have been very useful to have a marshal at the car park entrance after the event as it was a very slippery uphill slope to a blind exit, some additional straw or gravel over the last few feet of mud/grass would have prevented wheelspin, some rear wheel drive cars were really struggling!
We’ll organised friendly race
Marshalls were excellent
Would like to say a massive thank you to the sweepers this year. being the last finishers they were very supportive and we did not feel like we were under pressure to go faster, this made for a very very enjoyable experience this year. 7 min 19 second PB and a much better experince with the sweeper this year. Thank you
Fantastic event
The remembrance service before the race makes this a unique event. The first mile or two makes you concerned that this is a very hilly course but it flattens out. Nice support from the isolated farms and villages.
Great way to remember the fallen in the world wars
Great race and very well organised!
A race that is first on my list every year. Friendly, beautiful and fun (apart from the hills)
Keep up the good work!
Well organised and a great course
My only disappointment was the sausage in a bun bought at the end, it was inedible and ended up in the bin! The thing that cheered me up was that it raised money for the school so not all bad
Well organised, safe, and enjoyable event.
When finished, it was not immediately clear where to exit to see other runners in. The natural tendency when unable to see the exit is to return over the timing mat, which would create chaos. Some signage may be helpful to assist finishers.
Supplying the race numbers in an envelope was wasteful, particularly as the table with the pens and safety pins was littered with empty envelopes.
Brilliant event as always!
Keep up the good work!
Yet again a very well organized and well delivered event.
Have done this several times now and is still one of my all time favorites.
I love the small loop at the start to allow the field to open out before heading back past the school.
The only areas where I think it falls down is with the finish where i'd like to see a straight line finish to aid that final sprint. (Difficult I know with the open road) and a better surface between 6 & 8 miles. I know it's a private road but the condition of this gets worse with more potholes year on year. It's a slow section that lets down the rest of a cracking course.
Fun
