Hardy hilly race, well organised in a beautiful area

This is a physically demanding 10k, not for the faint hearted!
Very well organised and great fun though.

A great, fun race

Only one issue, the first kissing gate was a major bottleneck. According to my watch I was standing still for 11minutes waiting to get through it. The course needs to be routed different to avoid it so near the start.

It's not an easy run. but then it's not meant to be! Really well organised, & the marshalls were all brilliant & so encouraging! 1st time I've run this event & loved it!

Fantastic but badly let down by the kissing gate blockage.

Action should have been taken to firm up the muddy path and perhaps sought to temporarily remove the kissing gate. I stood for eleven minutes to get through this. It needed biodegradable material such as straw to firm the ground but wider than this the Country Park need to look at improving tracks such as this.

Not a PB course but a fantastic challenge

I have a love/hate relationship with the Hadleigh Legacy 10k, but I must love it more than hate it having completed it nine times now. It is a shame the route is no longer on the 2012 Olympics BMX course, so no boulders to clamber over or zig-zag paths to negotiate, but the organisers made up for that with plenty of mud and hills.

The facilities at Hadleigh are great (though the car parking charges are astronomical, like at all of the Essex country parks these days). We were told that the start would be in waves and that we would realise why when we reached the kissing gate at around the first mile. Unfortunately, the waves weren’t staggered enough. Those of us towards the back of the field reached the kissing gate to find a huge crowd ahead of us trying to get through, not helped by the fact that the gate was followed by a narrow path full of the stickiest mud you could ever encounter. More stagger next year please! It was actually faster on the second lap, when the field had thinned out.

The marshals were fantastic all the way around the course, and the medal is one of the best from a race of this sort. So, will I do my tenth Hadleigh Legacy 10k next year? Hell, yes!

Sort the kissing gate . Good our wave times

The utter joke at the kissing gate was ridiculous. I waited 20 minutes before I could get through this area. Runner MUST wear trails because this was half the problem at the kissing gate. Runners with road shoes and they can't get through that mud section. If they are caught with road shoes on, they need to be disqualified.

Your marshals were brilliant but they need to be put in areas they can easily access. The marshal (old man he was lovely) could not get back up the hill and his legs were too wobbly so I had to stop running and basically get him back up the hill!!!

The race has come up 500 metres short each year and needs to be sorted!

Killer hills. Not for the faint-hearted!

Great course; just a shame about the bottle-neck at the first kissing gate and a shame that the boulder hill wasn’t part of the event this year. Nevertheless, a really challenging 10k well marshalled and organised. Thank you!

Lovely people beautiful scenery very tough run

It would be better if the faster runners went about half hour ahead at least. We were in a big log jam by the turnstile which meant a half hour wait and then the fast runners caught up so we had to wait in the mud for them to pass by!!

Tough and fun

First kissing Gate is a JOKE. causes to much of a backlog. Also course is always 500m short.

It may not be a PB course, but short and waiting around isn't really acceptable. SORT THE ROUTE OUT.

Great challenging run

Could do with a modified route to avoid the pinch points and boggy parts that stall the race, apart from that it’s a hard but rewarding race

Disgusting

You couldn’t even be bothered to add myself and running friends to the finishing times posted
Yes we were last but we gave it our all
We might not be the fastest but we still participated and paid to do so
Bloody fuming!!!
